Plan, cost, create, market and maintain an online presence

During 10 1½ hour training sessions you will learn how to plan, build and maintain a website / web presence. You will learn where the Internet has come from, where it is today and what may lie ahead.  You will hand code your first webpage using nothing more than notepad (something many of today’s web designers can’t do).  We will look at the tools available to help you design and build your website.

We will discuss how to write good relevant content for your website, optimising it for the search engines while keeping it relevant and engaging to the customer.

Your Trainer

Jonathan Lomax first worked with 'the web' in '1995' as an in house trainer with Unilever Plc at their head office in London.  Training staff on the use of Netscape version 2, led to training users on NetObjects Team Fusion for maintaining intranet sites.

Jonathan spent 8 years with Unilever working on web related projects in Ireland, the UK, France and Holland.  With 16 years experience working for clients such as Unilever, BT, Universal Music and many large training companies in the UK, Jonathan is well placed to deliver a course which will empower a business owner to manage their online presence.

Jonathan currently runs Format.ie with his wife Lisa.  They build websites for a variety of clients in Ireland and the UK.  Jonathan also teaches for FAS in Sligo.

Duration: 10 1½ hour modules spread over a 10 or 5 week period.

Prior Knowledge Required: Ability to use a mouse and keyboard in a MS Windows or Mac operating system. No previous Internet knowledge is required or assumed.
